Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will release digitally for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store on May 21 for $49.99, publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Ninja Theory announced. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
Speaking in a post on the Xbox Wire blog, Ninja Theory studio head Dom Matthews confirmed that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be a game with a focused narrative and similar length to its predecessor, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Game details:
Since the release of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Ninja Theory has gone from being an independent team to being part of Xbox Game Studios. While this has been a change for Ninja Theory, especially in terms of the support available to pursue our ambitions, what hasn’t changed is our passion and commitment to our studio’s mission: creating life-changing art with revolutionary technology.
In Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, your approach remains the same. Although they are no longer an independent studio, their creative spirit has been strengthened by joining Xbox Game Studios, allowing them to elevate their production values far beyond what they previously achieved.
Message to players:
Dom Matthews, the head of the studio, expressed his message to players, ensuring that if they loved Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice or enjoy immersive cinematic narrative experiences, they are building Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II for them. The game will be similar in length to the first Hellblade, with a focused narrative and will be sold exclusively in digital format for $49.99 USD.
Unique experience:
Players can expect more of the same, but with the support to take their ambitions for immersion, loyalty and richness much further than before. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will continue to explore the unique world of Senua through perception puzzles, brutal combat, and traversal gameplay, this time across the harsh but beautiful landscapes of 10th century Iceland. All of these elements will intertwine into one unique visual and auditory experience, where everything is at the service of Senua’s story.
