Developer miHoYo has revealed that the long-awaited 2.0 update of Honkai: Star Rail, titled “If One Dreams At Midnight,” will be released on February 6. This update introduces the mysterious new kingdom of Penacony, along with new quests, characters and system improvements, promising an exciting experience for players.
Discovering Penacony: A Dream World
Version 2.0 takes players to the new kingdom of Penacony, a gigantic interstellar hotel called The Reverie. What was once a frontier prison used by the IPC has evolved over time into a luxurious cosmic vacation destination. Here, the Trailblazers will use the Dreampool, a unique dream device, to explore the Dreamscapes, with the first of them, Golden Hour, being one of the most lively and popular among the 12 Dreamscapes.
In Golden Hour, celebration and pleasure are the protagonists in this city, with dances and happy songs that never stop. While exploring the region, the Trailblazers will encounter the Dream’s Eye, an astonishing device that uses visual illusions to seamlessly connect previously disjointed paths with significant elevation differences. Additionally, in later stories, the Trailblazers will unlock the Dreamwalk ability, allowing them to enjoy a unique experience defying gravity and walking on walls and ceilings.
New Characters and Skills: Black Swan and Sparkle
Two new characters will join the battle in Penacony. The mysterious lady, Black Swan, a prominent Oracle and Memokeeper in the Garden of Recollection, will make her dazzling debut. With her unique ability to transform the memories of others into cards she uses in combat, Black Swan adds a unique strategic dynamic to the game.
Another notable addition is Sparkle, the enigmatic Masked Fool. Passionate about the search for Elation, Sparkle is a dangerous master of drama who changes identities and enjoys playing various roles. In combat, Sparkle not only increases the CRIT DMG of a designated teammate, but she also preempts that teammate’s action, providing more strategic options.
Additionally, Misha, a local Penaconian who works as a bouncer at The Reverie, also joins the fight. In combat, Misha’s Ultimate deals more damage the more the team’s Skill Points are used, and he has a chance to freeze the target.
System Improvements for a More Convenient Experience
Version 2.0 also brings a number of optimizations to the system. Fate’s Atlas will document the events and plots of each world in chronological order, helping Trailblazers better organize narrative context. Improving the Relics upgrade process makes it easier to insert materials and raise each Relic to a specific level. Additionally, Relic set recommendations for different characters are introduced, allowing players to filter and change Relic sets with a single click according to their needs.
With these exciting additions and improvements, Honkai: Star Rail Update 2.0 promises to offer players an even more engaging and strategic experience when it launches on February 6.
