Total sales of the Resident Evil 4 remake have exceeded 6.48 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2023, Capcom announced. Resident Evil 4 was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on March 24, 2023, followed by Mac, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad on December 20, 2023. The game was last reported having sold 5.4 million units as of September 30, 2023, meaning it sold more than one million additional units in three months.

According to Capcom’s consolidated financial results for the nine months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, in relation to sales of catalog titles, the Monster Hunter series reported strong sales, driven by the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds, a new addition to the series. Additionally, Resident Evil 4, released in March 2023, contributed to sales growth, reaching 6.48 million cumulative units, supported by continued promotional measures, including free title updates for PlayStation VR2.

Additionally, the Company conducted proactive promotional campaigns to gain widespread recognition for its intellectual property and acquire new fans, primarily focusing on sales of series titles, such as Resident Evil 2. As a result, sales of catalog titles reached 26.7 million units, exceeding 22 million units in the same period of the previous fiscal year and boosting sales.
