Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have announced that the release of Homeworld 3 has been delayed from its previously planned date of March 8 to May 13. The game will be available for PC through Steam and Epic Games Store priced at $59.99.
In a joint statement, Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive expressed their gratitude for the community support and shared details about the decision to delay the release. The statement says the following:
“Hello, Commanders! We hope everyone is enjoying their first experience with Homeworld 3 during our public War Games demo. Watching them share their experiences, exchange and debate strategies, and give us constant feedback has been incredible. This was the first time we saw the game played on a large scale, which is always an equally exciting and stressful time. We also recently assembled a dedicated group of players from outside our organizations to play through the full game. This resulted in additional knowledge and perspectives to be incorporated to make Homeworld 3 the best possible experience.
After careful analysis of the feedback, we made the decision to delay the global release of Homeworld 3 until May 13, with early access scheduled for May 10, to ensure we make the final adjustments necessary to deliver at the level of quality we strive for and that you deserve.
To say that you as a gaming community have been patiently waiting for this next installment would be an understatement, and for that we are deeply grateful. We will continue to keep you updated on our progress. As always, you can submit your feedback via social channels, the Homeworld Universe Discord, and through our support page.
Thank you all for playing, and we’ll talk again soon.”
This delay, while disappointing to some fans, demonstrates the developers’ commitment to game quality and player satisfaction. The followers of Homeworld 3 You can expect an even more polished experience when the game finally launches in May.
