Free-to-play platform fighting game MultiVersus launching on May 28

Warner Bros. Games and developer Player First Games have announced that MultiVersus, the free-to-play platform fighting game, will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on May 28. This official launch follows an open beta test that ran from July 26, 2022 to June 25, 2023.

MultiVersus Game Director and Player First Games co-founder Tony Huynh announced in a video update that they have been hard at work on a variety of changes and updates to deliver an improved gaming experience. New iconic characters have been added to the game’s cast, along with more settings from worlds yet to be explored.

The game has been ported to Unreal Engine 5, which will improve the game’s display and character lighting. Many aspects of the game have been rebuilt to support new network code that will ensure consistent, high-quality, world-class online gameplay.

Additionally, new attacks and combat mechanics have been introduced for each character, allowing players to express their ability more fully. A new PvE (player versus environment) game mode has also been announced that will offer a different way to play, outside of competitive PvP (player versus player), with unique rewards.

With these exciting new features and improvements, MultiVersus promises to deliver an even more exciting and varied gaming experience for fans of the platform fighting genre. Players are eager to put these new features to the test and immerse themselves in epic battles with their favorite characters.
