SEGA has other legacy games in the works beyond what’s been announced

Games Informer recently chatted with SEGA’s content production department Kagasei Shimomura to find out what the Japanese company’s future plans are. As we all know, SEGA has a number of prolific franchises which it has benched and it’s looking to resurrect some of these with a modern twist. While a number of the series have already been announced by the company, they also have some undisclosed retro projects in the works for franchises which have been long since dormant. Mr. Shimomura sadly wouldn’t elaborate on what these are.

“But Shinobi: Art of Vengeance isn’t the only legacy IP returning in the near future. Franchises like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage were also announced in that 2023 teaser video. “We can’t talk in detail about anything, but that being said, we are considering several projects and are working on several projects,” Shimomura says. “Not only games, but also other things that have been [announced] already. We’re really looking forward to growing several of our IPs and making sure that we have several fun things coming up in the future.”
