While acclaimed developer Hideo Kojima has nothing to do with the Metal Gear franchise nowadays, Konami is determined to get the beloved series going again. The company has been training up younger developers in an effort to continue Kojima’s masterful work on the series. While the latest game Metal Gear Solid Delta isn’t coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, the series could eventually come to the platform as Konami will likely want to bring the game to as many platforms as possible.
“So, one of the reasons why we brought in a lot of fresh meat — all the new, younger developers — is because, not only did we want to give them a chance to figure out how to create and develop a Metal Gear game, but also give them a chance to experience the game themselves,” Okamura adds. “And we’ll still be here for a while, but right now the goal is to build a team that could carry on the legacy on our behalf and could produce, hopefully in the future, more exciting games.”
