The creator behind the acclaimed Dragon Quest video game franchise, Yuji Horii, has been awarded the prestigious The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette from the Japanese Government for his contributions to the country. Mr. Horii is the first video game creator to receive such an honour. The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette is awarded to individuals who have rendered distinguished service to the state in different fields. Mr. Horii thanked the other developers and the fans for their continued support.
