GRIME Definitive Edition comes to Nintendo Switch on January 25 with the release of free “Parting Shade” DLC

The Nintendo Switch version of the Metroidvania game GRIME will launch on January 25, publisher Akupara Games and developer Clove Bite announced. This release will coincide with the availability of the latest free DLC “Parting Shade” on all platforms. With the introduction of “Parting Shade,” which follows the previous free DLCs “Colors of Rot” and “Tinge of Terror,” GRIME will be rebranded as GRIME Definitive Edition.

The Switch release will include all previously released content from the beginning. GRIME is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.

Game description and additional content, according to Akupara Games: GRIME has taken root in the landscape of Metroidvania players with its anatomical horror, soulslike progression, and innovative parry system. Creative Director Yarden Weissbrot saw the opportunity, the hunger, the desire for more GRIME and wanted to fulfill that possibility as he noticed something was missing in the metroidvania gamer landscape. This allowed developer Clover Bite to fill that void and create GRIME Definitive Edition, the definitive way to explore GRIME, including the base game and three free DLC: “Colors of Rot,” “Tinge of Terror,” and the newly introduced “Parting.” Shade.”

In GRIME, you control a nameless embodiment of destruction, fighting your way through an aberrant landscape where rock monsters rule. Armed with various “living weapons” and a black hole head, you consume the essence of the fallen to strengthen your entity and unlock powerful upgrades. Get ready for the ultimate GRIME experience on January 25 on Nintendo Switch!
