Hiroyuki Kobayashi and GPTRACK50 announce development of new 3D action RPG

Acclaimed Capcom producer, Hiroyuki Kobayashifounder of GPTRACK50 under the aegis of NetEase Games in October 2022, has revealed in the latest edition of Weekly Famitsu magazine that he is working on a new 3D action RPG.

Kobayashi, in an interview with Weekly Famitsu, explained that he felt confident accepting NetEase Games’ offer to create a new studio due to the company’s global expansion, as well as the fact that NetEase Games is the parent company of both Grasshopper Manufacture by Goichi “Suda 51” Suda as by Nagoshi Studio by Toshihiro Nagoshi.

This new 3D action game is characterized by being an experience that players can enjoy at their own pace. While it won’t be as challenging as certain games where you’re expected to die frequently, it will include familiar concepts like jobs, attributes, weapons, and the ability to defeat enemies more easily by attacking their weak points.

The general outline of the game world is already defined, and the current plan is to complete the test version by spring 2024, followed by an official announcement at a later date. Development is expected to take between two and three years.

It is important to note that, despite Kobayashi’s experience in titles such as Sengoku Basara and Resident Evil, this new title does not fall into the Warring States or horror genre. Although the platforms have not yet been confirmed, Kobayashi mentioned his interest in releasing a physical game for consoles.

Fans of 3D action video games have plenty of reasons to be excited about this upcoming project from GPTRACK50 and Hiroyuki Kobayashi. We’ll keep an eye out for future news about this exciting game!
