Imran Khan says Nintendo has denied Embracer Group Switch 2 dev kits

One aspect of the Nintendo Switch 2 that is still unknown is just who has access to the console’s dev kits. There have been rumors, including one that appeared earlier today, that suggests that only large third-party companies were given dev kits. However, if the latest update in regards to this rumor is any indicator, there may be an exception.

According to writer and reporter Imran Khan, there is a big third-party publisher that was denied Switch 2 dev kits because Nintendo felt that they were too chaotic and unstable at the time. Because of this, they feared that they might shut down studios and, in the process, misplace or lose Switch 2 dev kits. Later on, Khan confirmed that the publisher was Embracer Group. Khan also says that “I don’t know if their plan changed (this story was from maybe eight months ago), but I know companies that split off from Embracer ended up going back to Nintendo and renegotiating, and they were more amenable”.
