Developer Prideful Sloth has announced that it will be holding a “Local Co-op Play Test” for its upcoming city-building simulation game, Go-Go Town!, in February 2024. Those interested can register to participate through this link. Here’s a summary of the game, according to its Steam page:
Become the Mayor of Go-Go Town! and Build your Own Tourist Paradise: Work your own hours, be your own boss. With a quick phone call and congratulations! You are the new mayor of Go-Go Town, a decaying tourist destination, very old-fashioned. Just like its residents… With the guidance of Go-Go Town’s elderly residents, you’ll soon learn all the ins and outs of being the town’s mayor, starting with building and repairing buildings. All with the aim of attracting more tourists! But don’t worry, the job will be a piece of cake with your tools: chainsaws, drills, trimmers, leaf blowers and other power tools will be at your disposal.
Planning and Management: Once you’ve repaired the dilapidated buildings, decorated the city, and built some new shops, it’s time to put on your planning cap. You’ll need to make sure everything runs smoothly. Make decisions about which stores to build, who will run them, how they will generate revenue, and how to manage supply chains, all while ensuring your infrastructure is robust to avoid any catastrophe.
Expand and Improve your City: Will you build a game room with a dancing game and neon lights? But on the other hand, wouldn’t it be great to have a burger joint in the city? And what goes better with a burger than a place to buy ice cream and shakes? And what about the memories? Everyone will want a Go-Go Town souvenir! Managing a city will keep you busy, but don’t worry! Your residents are eager to lend a hand!
Continuous Growth and Launch Platforms: Go-Go Town! is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2024. With the right combination of tools, strategies, and infrastructure, your city will be a well-oiled machine. You’ll soon discover that your bustling city needs more room to grow. Through the tech tree, you’ll be able to unlock features like terraforming, which will give you even more control over how you grow your city. Larger houses, art gallery-like buildings, and a greater variety of objects will allow you to add your own personal touches to each block.
