Capcom announces the release of Ed as a downloadable character for Street Fighter 6

Capcom has released the official trailer, details and screenshots of the downloadable character Ed for Street Fighter 6, who will be available from February 27. Ed will be unlocked for owners of the Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition or Year 1 Character Pass. This will be the 21st playable character after the release of Rashid and AKI last year.

Ed Features:

  • Ed becomes the 21st playable character in Street Fighter 6.
  • It will be available in three game modes: World Tour, Fighting Ground and Battle Hub.
  • The “Fight Pass Ed Arrives!” is now available for a limited time, allowing players to obtain boxing gear to prepare for the fight.
  • Along with Ed’s release will come a new scenario called “Ruined Lab,” which shows the result of Shadaloo’s fall as her laboratory lies in ruins.

Additional updates:

  • Various quality of life updates will be introduced, including the ability to change the button display on PC and an Extra Lighting feature in Photo Mode.
  • Ed, who first appeared in Street Fighter V, retains his simplified controls and receives expanded inputs for his classic controls in Street Fighter 6.
  • Players can expect new moves from Ed, including Psycho Flicker, Psycho Blitz, Psycho Storm, Psycho Cannon, and Psycho Chamber.

Ed will be unlocked for owners of the Year 1 Character Pass, Year 1 Ultimate Pass, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition on February 27. Additionally, Ed’s Outfit 2 will be available, inspired by his Story Outfit from Street Fighter V. Fans can also look forward to Akuma’s upcoming release this spring. Street Fighter 6 is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
