A Boy and His Blob: Retro Collection is now available

Publishers Ziggurat Interactive and Limited Run Games have announced the release of “A Boy and His Blob: Retro Collection” for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on October 17. Additionally, it has been confirmed that a PC version is in the plans and that there will be a formal announcement regarding this. (Update 10/10/23: The PC version will be released via Steam on the same day as the console versions.)

This collection offers players the opportunity to enjoy two classic NES and Game Boy titles on modern consoles, including their US and Japanese versions. “A Boy and His Blob: Trouble in Blobolonia” puts the fate of Blobolonia in your hands, as the evil Emperor threatens to plunge the planet into chaos. As the boy, accompanied by your new alien-looking friend, Blobert (affectionately known as Blob), you’ll use 14 magic beans to transform your companion’s form while putting your puzzle-solving and platforming skills to the test.

In “The Rescue of Princess Blobette,” enjoy the exciting sequel, where the perfidious Alchemist takes control of the Royal Castle of Blobolonia and traps the beautiful princess inside. Once again, it’s up to the titular boy and his Blob friend to defeat evil, save the princess, and get rid of a malicious intruder.

“A Boy and His Blob: Retro Collection,” powered by Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine, combines nostalgic feel with modern quality of life improvements. Updates include Trophies for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, filters to change the aesthetic appearance, and finally, the blessing of video games, save points! It will no longer be necessary to go back to the beginning after a game over.

The news has excited fans of these classics, who will be able to relive these beloved adventures on modern consoles and enjoy the improvements that will make the experience even more attractive. The October release date will be an exciting day for those who have been eagerly awaiting this return.
