Electronic Arts announces Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, a moving platformer for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC

Electronic Arts and developer Surgent Studios have revealed their next title, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, an endearing side-scrolling platformer. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) starting April 23, 2024, priced at $19.99. Pre-orders are now available and include two Shaman Points that unlock up to two abilities in the game.

Pre-sale details: In addition to the game, pre-order players will receive two Shaman Points to unlock in-game abilities, the “Kalunga Blessing” variant visual effect, and the “Soulshifters” digital comic that delves deeper into the game’s lore.

Game Summary: Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, the first title from Surgent Studios led by BAFTA-nominated actor Abubakar Salim, is a heartwarming single-player action-adventure platformer about the love between a father and son and the transforming power loss.

In this metroidvania-style adventure, players take on the role of Zau, a grieving hero determined to bring his father back to life. With Kalunga, the God of Death, as your guide, you will explore mystical 2.5D realms full of color and depth to harness the cosmic powers of the warrior shaman.

Tales of Kenzera: ZAU invites players to embark on Zau’s journey to spiritual healing, where the most difficult moments reveal who you can truly be. Immerse yourself in the beautiful and dangerous lands of Kenzera as Zau, a young Nganga, negotiates with the God of Death to bring back his father. As he advances toward his goal, Zau encounters three powerful beings, fearsome in strength but somehow strangely familiar. It will be up to you to embrace the shaman’s dance and unravel the mysteries of Kenzera. Get ready for an emotionally rich experience on April 23, 2024!
