WhisperGames and Shanghai developer AmberDragon to release Metroidvania gameThe Weird Dream” for PC via Steam on March 7, followed by Switch later in 2024, the companies announced.
“The Weird Dream” is a 2D Metroidvania game set in the ruins of Alpha City. Control a mysterious rabbit as you face the mutated inhabitants of Alpha City. Improve your skills and discover the truth behind the city’s premature destruction. The city is home to many legends about the origin of a being known only as the Astral Lord, however, they all share one common detail: the Astral Lord answers sincere prayers and grants all wishes. Inspired by Castlevania, Metroid, Dead Cells and Hollow Knight, among other great games, “The Weird Dream” offers a completely new experience in a carefully crafted fantasy world.
You play as a chainsaw-wielding rabbit that mysteriously came into existence to traverse dangerous but beautifully crafted environments and fight over 40 bosses to uncover the hidden secrets of this abnormally altered world.
One day, you wake up and realize that you are no longer your old self. Long ears, fluffy fur, and a bunny tail… Not only that, the once familiar Alpha City is now almost unrecognizable and overrun by monsters. To discover the cause of your mutation and the ruin of the city, you must embark on an epic adventure.
