Nintendo has taken to social media to deny the report from Japanese politician Satoshi Asano that it is working with the Japanese government to lobby against the use of AI. However, the Kyoto-based company said in its message that whether AI is used or not, it will continue to protect its IP against misuse.

“Contrary to recent discussions on the internet, Nintendo has not had any contact with the Japanese government about generative AI. Whether generative AI is involved or not, we will continue to take necessary actions against infringement of our intellectual property rights.”
