Nintendo eShop charts now focus on revenue made across 72 hours instead of units sold

Nintendo has changed the way its Nintendo eShop charts are compiled. Previously the company counted the number of copies sold over the past 48 hours to create a list of best-selling games. Fast forward to now and the Nintendo eShop charts focus on revenue acquired across the previous 72 hours. This is seemingly a way to rid the charts of cheap shovelware, which was subsequently cluttering up the top ten. However, because of these changes, other acclaimed indie titles may not feature in the Nintendo eShop charts.
