Nintendo Switch has been the dominant player this year at physical retail

It has emerged that the Nintendo Switch has proved to be the dominant format for physical video game retail sales in the largest game market in Europe, the United Kingdom. The Game Business reports that in Europe physical Nintendo Switch game sales remain extremely healthy. Sales of new Nintendo Switch games are still around 80% physical in Europe. Though the site admits that if Nintendo doesn’t have strong physical software sales in 2025 then it will have a massive impact on the boxed game market overall.
