You’ve got hours left to save on the best microSD cards for Steam Deck in the Prime Day sales

The Amazon Prime Day deals will be done in a few hours (we know, and then it’s back to normality, and they’ll let me out of this windowless room).

Still, if you’ve got a Steam Deck or the first Nintendo Switch (not Switch 2!), there are some great savings on microSD cards for either, including 512GB options as low as £27.99.

If you’re of a similar vintage to me, you might remember the Memory Stick Duo, which was Sony’s proprietary storage for the PSP. It cost a lot, didn’t have a lot of space, and I got down this short detour through memory lane (get it?) to say I’d have bitten your hand off for 512GB at that price.

US gamers can save even more, with a Sonic-branded Samsung option coming in at just $28.49 for 512GB. That’s a discount of 34%, which is better than it was when Prime Day started earlier this week.

That’s not all, though, with additional storage for your Switch or Steam Deck starting at just £12 for 128GB from SanDisk, which marks almost a 50% discount.

Another SanDisk option (and one that’s much better, if you’ve got the extra couple of quid) can get you 256GB for £14.42. It’s only a 20% discount, but the gap between 128GB and doubling that is very small, price-wise. A Samsung model with Tails on it is $19.99 in the US.

Away from SanDisk, it’s Lexar that has the best deal on a hefty 1TB of storage. Its £79.99 card is down to £65, marking a discount of 18%.

microSD Card – 1TB

$69.99 – was $116.99 (40% off)

Wouldn’t you know it, the Sonic-branded (well, Shadow-branded) 1TB Samsung card in the US is now down to just $69.99, too, which is 40% off of the starting price of $116.99.

Sadly, these just won’t cut it for the Switch 2, we’re sad to say. Nintendo’s latest hybrid system uses microSD Express cards, which are faster.

They’re also (as you’ve probably guessed) more expensive than the others on this list, so you can expect to pay around £50-60 for a 256GB option.

While the Nintendo-branded Samsung card doesn’t appear to be available, you can get this SanDisk option at a slight discount. It’s down to £45 from £50.

If you’re yet to buy a Switch 2, it’s back in stock at Amazon, and the US listing is up to request an invite.
