Publisher Super Rare Originals and developer Inresin have announced a delay in the release of the puzzle platformer “The Gecko Gods“. Originally planned for 2023, the game now has a release date scheduled for 2024. Additionally, it has been confirmed that it will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, in addition to the previously announced versions for Switch and PC (Steam).
In “The Gecko Gods,” players take on the role of an adorable little gecko on a monumental quest to rescue a dear friend. This adventure will take you through a world full of mysterious islands, ancient tombs and breathtaking landscapes. What makes this game unique is that the protagonist, the little gecko, can climb any surface, be it the floor, walls or even the ceiling. There is no corner unexplored, since secrets can be hidden anywhere in this enchanting world.
But here’s a twist you might not have expected: the gecko can even navigate a boat. The essence of the game lies not in the destination, but in the beautiful journey it offers to players. The gameplay of “The Gecko Gods” seamlessly combines elements of open-world exploration on an expansive archipelago with the intricate challenges presented in forgotten ancient tombs. These tombs house puzzles that will test your problem-solving skills.
For the collectors at heart, there are insect-shaped collectibles that our charming gecko protagonist enthusiastically devours. Although you will occasionally encounter enemies and obstacles in your path, the game focuses more on relaxed exploration than intense combat.
PlayStation 5 players will be treated to an exclusive experience as “The Gecko Gods” will take advantage of the platform’s haptic feedback and 3D audio capabilities. This promises to create an immersive experience like no other.
This game is a testament to the talent of its developer, Louis “Inresin” Waloschek, who has dedicated almost three years to bringing “The Gecko Gods” to life. Prepare to set sail, climb walls and unravel ancient mysteries in a world where the journey is as enchanting as the destination.
