The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria delays its launch on PlayStation 5 to December

Publisher North Beach Games and developer Free Range Games have announced a delay in the release of the PlayStation 5 version of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. Originally scheduled for October 24, the release date has been pushed back to December 5. Additionally, this version will be available in both physical and digital formats.

The PC game, which will launch through the Epic Games Store on October 24, has reached its “gold” phase, meaning it is ready for release. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series version remains on its launch plans for early 2024.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria offers a story that transports players beyond the pages of books and immerses them in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, the fantastic world created by JRR Tolkien. Players gather in the Misty Mountains under the leadership of Lord Gimli Lockbearer, played in the game by actor John Rhys-Davies. They will be part of a company of Dwarves tasked with recovering the lost treasures of Moria, known as Khazad-dum or Dwarrowdelf, in the depths beneath their feet. Your mission will require strength and teamwork, as you delve into the Mines of Moria to recover their treasures and return them to their former glory.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria allows players to create their own custom Dwarf before venturing into the cavernous mines of Moria, either alone or alongside a company of other Dwarves online. Adventures in the depths will present unique challenges and opportunities thanks to procedurally generated environments, providing virtually endless variety as players explore the depths of the Dwarves.

As they delve deeper into the mines, the Dwarves must ensure they are prepared to face the dangers that lie in their path, crafting sturdy armor and skillfully forged weapons to fight off goblins, arachnids, and other mysterious enemies they may encounter.

The game promises an immersive experience in the world of JRR Tolkien, allowing players to create and customize their own Dwarf characters. The “In-Game Dwarf Creator” offers numerous customization options, including beards, hair, accessories, facial features, tattoos, scars, body type, origin, voice, and personality type.

Despite the delay, the wait will surely be worth it for fans of The Lord of the Rings eager to immerse themselves in this exciting adventure in Middle Earth. Get ready to explore the depths of Moria and discover the mysteries that lurk within!
