Baroque Decay Games announces the revival of Catechesis: a horror RPG revival

Yuppie Psycho developer Baroque Decay Games has revealed exciting news about its next project: Catechesisa revival of the game they originally announced in 2013. This horror RPG game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, although a release date has yet to be announced .

According to a press release from Baroque Decay Games, “A decade ago, Baroque Decay made an exciting announcement: its first game, Catechesis.” This pixel survival horror game took the young indie gaming scene by storm, with trailers featured even on prominent gaming websites of the time. “Fans have been looking forward to this pixelated homage to Resident Evil.”

The statement goes on to explain that, due to the developers’ ambition and lack of experience, the project originally announced in 2013 became too ambitious and was postponed. Rather than abandon the idea entirely, Baroque Decay Games focused on smaller projects like The Count Lucanor and Yuppie Psycho.

Now, after a decade and with two successful games in its portfolio, Baroque Decay Games has once again announced Catechesis as its next project. The team, armed with a decade of development experience and a larger team, is determined to bring this project to fruition once and for all.

Specific details about the game’s plot and features have yet to be revealed, but fans can expect an exciting revival of Catechesis that draws on the experience gained by Baroque Decay Games over the years. Stay tuned for more information on this highly anticipated horror RPG adventure.
