Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater PC requirements revealed

Konami has revealed the PC requirements for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

The game’s Steam page has been updated to include the system requirements, ahead of its release on 28th August.

Notably, it requires a RTX 2060 Super GPU as a minimum – these were launched by Nvidia in 2019, meaning you’ll need a fairly up to date rig to play as intended.

The PC requirements for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater are below:

Minimum Recommended

GPU RTX 2060 Super (8GB) RTX 3080
DirectX Version 12 Version 12
Storage 100 GB available space (SSD Recommended) 100 GB available space (SSD Recommended)

For comparison, the GPU requirement is on a par with the likes of the recently released Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

It also requires 100GB storage space, so will take up a big chunk of your SSD.

As PC Gamer notes, Konami has switched from its previous Fox Engine to Unreal Engine 5, which may have had an impact on the GPU requirement – for instance, if this hardware is required for the engine’s Lumen ray-tracing effects.

It’s also unclear at this point how non-Nvidia cards will compare.

The release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was announced at the recent PlayStation State of Play event, though it leaked a week earlier.

It’ll be out on 28th August across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Both the PC and PS5 versions will include the Snake vs Monkey minigame featuring Ape Escape characters, while the Xbox version will swap this for Bomberman.
