Here’s a first look at Sonic as The Flash in Sega’s DC Comics crossover

DC Comics and Sega have released a first look at their Justice League and Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series, including Sonic dressed as The Flash and Shadow as Batman.

The crossover was first announced at the Sonic Central event last September, following a tease on Batman Day earlier the same week.

That first announcement revealed which characters we’d see pairing up, but now we’ve got a first look at official comic panels of both teams joining forces to save their worlds from a major threat.

The panels, shared below, show both Sonic characters in cahoots with the Justice League, but also borrowing their costumes.

As a result, we get some incredibly cool art like Shadow and Batman racing on motorcycles, Knuckles and Superman racing through the air, and Sonic and The Flash racing over water. Basically, a lot of racing.

I’m also very fond of this Metal Sonic vs Batman panel!

Here’s the front cover and the variant cover.

The series will consist of five issues from Sonic writer Ian Flynn and Sonic artist Adam Bryce Thomas.

There’s currently no release date beyond “later in 2025”.

Sonic Rumble, the mobile party battler also shown at last year’s Sonic Central event, was recently delayed into spring. It will be the first Sonic game from Angry Birds studio Rovio.

More recently, a fan-made port of Xbox 360 game Sonic Unleashed was released for PC with modern quality of life elements. Naturally, it’s spawned a number of mods.
