Alone in the Dark Delayed to January 2024 to Deliver an Unforgettable Experience

THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive have announced that the launch of Alone in the Dark will be delayed from its scheduled date, October 25, to January 16, 2024. This long-awaited game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam and GOG.

Reasons for Delay

In a press release, THQ Nordic explained the reasons behind this delay. The company cited its desire to avoid competing with other notable releases, such as Alan’s epic release, as well as not getting lost in the dazzling skyline of cities adorned by Spider-Man’s stylish stunts.

THQ Nordic’s statement read: “Our goal is to stay as ‘Alone in the Dark’ as possible. To honor this, the spooky horror game has been rescheduled to reveal its horrors on January 16, 2024. This extension will serve a dual purpose: not only will it allow us to meticulously refine the gameplay experience, but it will also give us the opportunity to “to fully immerse ourselves in October’s extraordinary releases.”

A Look at Alone in the Dark

Alone in the Dark is a tribute to the groundbreaking original that lets you experience a haunting story through the eyes of two protagonists: play as Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood in this reimagining of the classic survival horror game, where psychological horror meets southern gothic

The plot is set in the 1920s in the deep south of the United States, where Emily Hartwood’s uncle has disappeared. Together with private investigator Edward Carnby, they embark on a journey to Derceto Mansion, a home for the mentally ill where something lurks. Along the way, they encounter strange residents, nightmarish kingdoms, and dangerous monsters, ultimately unveiling a plot of growing evil.

As you cross the line between reality, mystery and madness, an adventure awaits that will change your fundamental beliefs. Who can you trust, what will you believe, and what will you do next? Alone in the Dark promises an immersive horror experience that will be worth the wait.
