RaRo Announces Rail Romanesque Origin for PlayStation 4 and Switch


RaRo has announced the launch of Rail Romanesque Origin for PlayStation 4 and Switch, exciting news for lovers of romance visual novels. The game will be available starting December 21 in Japan, priced at 3,800 yen in physical format and 2,800 yen for digital download. A limited edition will also be available for 11,800 yen, which will include a Blu-ray disc of the anime series Rail Romanesque 2 and a three-disc album with vocal music.

An Adaptation of Maitetsu: Last Run!!

Rail Romanesque Origin is a console adaptation of the romance visual novel Maitetsu: Last Run!!, which was originally released for PC on October 30, 2020 in Japan. This revolutionized version combines content from the original game, as well as the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions, plus sequels for each route.

Series History

The Maitetsu series has a fascinating history dating back to 2016 with the release of the original game on PC. A comic book version was later serialized and the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions were released. The series also gave rise to the television anime Rail Romanesque.

An Alternative Railway World

The plot of Rail Romanesque Origin takes us to an alternate world where transportation technology is changing rapidly. Soutetsu Migita, a young man, encounters beautiful women with unique desires and forgotten railway control modules known as “Raillords.” He embarks on an exciting railway adventure to revitalize the Abandoned Great Railway.

A Unique Railway Adventure

The game promises to be a “beautiful and therapeutic railway adventure,” with themed railway vehicles and “Raillords,” artificially intelligent female robots that embody trains. The story takes place in a world slightly different from the real one, and players will be able to enjoy a deep narrative with 12 scenarios and 443 episodes, each approximately 10 minutes long.
