TAITO’s arcade platformer Spica Adventure is coming to PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in Spring 2024

ININ Games will launch the side-scrolling platformer developed by TAITO, Spica Adventure, digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch in the West in spring 2024, the publisher announced. Pre-sales of the physical editions for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Switch will open on November 14. Spica Adventure was first released in arcades in Japan in 2005. This reissue will mark the first time it will be available on consoles. Here’s an overview of the game, according to ININ Games:

In Spica Adventure, players will use their wits and quick reflexes to guide the heroine, Nico, through challenging levels filled with abstract, cartoonish dangers. To navigate the game’s challenges, players will rely on Nico’s trusty umbrella, reminiscent of the iconic yellow parasols from the beloved game Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III. Serving as a spiritual successor, Spica Adventure once again places importance on the yellow umbrella as a vital device for the player. This versatile tool becomes a real lifesaver in complicated situations, allowing you to charge at enemies, float gracefully in the air, jump off walls with agility, and even reflect incoming bullets. Mastering the various functions of the umbrella is essential to progressing through the game, just as it was in the memorable adventures of Parasol Stars.

In Spica Adventure, you will race against time as the levels are designed to be completed as fast as a screen-filling robot will start chasing our heroine if she spends too much time on a single level… After completing a level, players They will have some options for their next destination. Choose your next direction as the levels branch out, offering different challenges and rewards. Players must choose their path wisely to guide the heroine to victory.
