Valve announces Steam Deck OLED: OLED screen, better battery and more

Valve has announced the launch of Steam Deck OLED, a new version of the Steam Deck with an OLED screen. The release date is set for November 16 in 512 gigabyte and one terabyte variants for $549.99 and $649.99, respectively. A limited edition one-terabyte variant will also be available for $679.99.

Steam Deck OLED Featured Features:

  • OLED HDR display: Designed specifically for gaming, Steam Deck’s HDR OLED display delivers impressive contrast, brilliant clarity, and a larger image. With brighter colors, deeper blacks, and incredible motion rendering, gamers will experience their games in a whole new way.
  • More Time to Play: Steam Deck OLED has 30% to 50% longer battery life. With a larger battery and a more energy-efficient OLED display, combined with an updated, more efficient AMD APU, gamers will have much more time to enjoy their favorite games.
  • Faster Downloads: Equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, Steam Deck OLED offers higher bandwidth and lower latency. This translates to faster downloads, up to three times faster! and a more stable online gaming experience.
  • Lighter and Cooler: Thanks to a larger fan and updated thermals, the Steam Deck OLED runs cooler. In addition, it is 30 grams lighter, approximately five percent less than the LCD model, due to the screen.

Additionally, the 64 gigabyte, 256 gigabyte, and 512 gigabyte LCD Steam Deck variants will be available at a reduced price while supplies last.
