Arc System Works and French-Bread have revealed the opening of Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, the long-awaited sequel to the fighting game. This installment marks the exciting close of the “Hollow Night” story, which began with the first series more than a decade ago. Here’s an overview of the game, courtesy of Arc System Works:
Game Description: Created in collaboration with developer French-Bread, Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes presents the final chapter in the “Hollow Night” story, which began with the launch of the first series more than a decade ago. As an original addition to the fighting game genre, the game offers stylized action, powerful duels with adversaries, fantastic visual environments, 21 returning characters, new In-Birth characters joining the cast, immersive background music, and of course For the first time in the series, rollback netcode has been implemented.
Players take on the role of the protagonist, Hyde, a young high school student who encounters the mysterious Linne, causing the awakening of his inner EXS powers. As the two bond, they fight to defeat the fearsome Paradox. This leads to the appearance of the enigmatic Kuon the Aeon, who crushes the two victors and proclaims his coming to the end of the world. Linne disappears and Hyde, now determined to save his world of Kuon, ventures alone into the Night…
Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes is scheduled for a worldwide release on January 25, 2024 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam. An open beta test will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 from today until November 19.
