Homeworld 3: Release delayed to March 8, 2024

Gearbox Publishing and developer Blackbird Interactive have announced a slight delay in the release of Homeworld 3. Originally scheduled for February 2024, the release is now scheduled for March 8, 2024. The game will be available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store priced at $59.99.

Homeworld 3, the award-winning sci-fi real-time strategy game, returns with tactics, beauty and uniqueness. Players will take control and engage in fleet combat in a fully three-dimensional space as the award-winning story unfolds on a galactic scale.

Megaliths, massive space debris, introduce 3D terrain to the classic Homeworld battlefield. Use the remains of an ancient civilization to ambush your enemies or hide your fleet from powerful enemies. The fortresses are filled with menacing turrets and invite your fighters to dangerous raids behind enemy lines.

Homeworld 3 features a full ballistics simulation, where line of sight and cover are critical strategic considerations. Fleets persist from mission to mission, showing scars on your ships. Fighter pilots and capital ship captains transmit critical information through battlefield chatter.

Homeworld’s Game of the Year winning story continues from the end of Homeworld 2. After an era of plenty thanks to the Hyperspace Gate Network, the gates are now failing catastrophically. Karan, turned into myth and religious idolatry, is the key to the mystery that threatens the future of the galaxy.

Homeworld 3 offers a cooperative multiplayer mode that takes the game beyond the campaign. Fusing the real-time strategy gameplay of Homeworld with a roguelike structure, one or two commanders face a randomized series of fleet combat challenges.

The delay, according to the developers, will allow the game to be further polished to offer players the best possible experience.
