Publisher iMel and developers elf and DiGination will release the romance visual novel “Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer CSver” for PlayStation 4 and Switch on April 18, 2024 in Japan for 5,400 yen, the companies announced. Distribution will be carried out by the new DG REMAKE brand. A limited edition will also be available for 8,400 yen, which will include a visual fan book, a CD with the full version of the theme song, and an acrylic stand.
“Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer” was first released on February 26, 2021 in Japan with the title “Dokyusei Remake.” As the title suggests, it is a remake of the visual novel first released by developer elf in 1992. An English version was released for PC via Steam and Johren on March 11, 2022.
Key Features of the Visual Novel:
- Complete CG and Voice Redesign: Portraits, CG scenes, and key animations have been changed to newly drawn illustrations by Kohaku Sumeragi. Some background characters have been redrawn by a separate artist. The map screen and user interface have also been improved for HD screen size. All vocals have also been recorded again.
- Exclusive CGs for Consoles: Additional CGs have been created specifically for the console version. New text and event scenes have been added for all characters. Expect new scenes that you can only enjoy in Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer CSver!
- Easy Mode: Easy Mode is the remake’s default mode. In this mode, you can check where each heroine is located on the map, as well as a list of flags. You can also jump directly to events, making it easier than ever to clear the game. (Classic Mode is also available.)
The announcement doesn’t mention whether the game will support English as a language option, so it likely won’t, as support for multiple languages is usually highlighted as a key feature for visual novel ports.
