Bethesda Softworks, Arkane Studios Lyon and Marvel Games announce Marvel’s Blade

In an exciting joint announcement, Bethesda Softworks, Arkane Studios Lyon and Marvel Games have revealed the development of Marvel’s Blade, a “mature, single-player, third-person” game with an original story based on the comic book hero Blade. Although no platforms or release date have been announced, it has been confirmed that development has just begun.

“In honor of Blade’s 50th anniversary, we’ve found the perfect match for Daywalker in Arkane Lyon, a studio of uncompromising artists who continually push the boundaries of game design and innovation,” said Bill Rosemann, Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marvel Games. , in a press release. “In addition to his award-winning talent, it is his personal passion and bold vision for our half-human, half-vampire icon that makes this collaboration perfect.”

Arkane Studios Lyon game director Dinga Bakaba added: “As a child of mixed origins, I felt a special connection with Blade, a hero with a dual heritage. The opportunity to put our touch on this character is a dream of mine and a challenge our team passionately embraces. “We couldn’t be happier to put players in Blade’s boots, as he becomes the champion of my hometown of Paris, one peg at a time.”

Marvel’s Blade will be set in a quarantined section of Paris in the midst of a supernatural emergency. Vampires have emerged, terrorizing the City of Lights and forcing Parisians to take refuge in their homes at night, awaiting the arrival of dawn.

“From his trench coat to his iconic sunglasses, Blade is an elegant, stylish and determined character,” said Sebastien Mitton, co-creative and art director of Arkane Studios Lyon. “This project is the perfect opportunity to take Arkane’s artistic style into even more modern and bold territory. The essence of our work lives at the intersection of impactful ideas and innovative knowledge.”
