Arc System Works has revealed that it will launch the “library battle simulation” game developed by ProjectMoon, Library of Ruin, for PlayStation 4 and Switch on April 25 in Japan and Asia, and this spring globally for $39.99. In Japan, it will be available both physically and digitally for 4,950 yen.
New Features and Exclusive Content:
This version of Library of Ruina will feature full Japanese dubbing with a cast that includes Shunsuke Takeuchi as Roland and Ikumi Hasegawa as Angela. Additionally, it will feature the game’s digital soundtrack and an art book, both originally present in the PC version, along with commentary from the developers.
History and Concept of the Game:
In Library of Ruina, players take on the role of the Library’s director and welcome its guests. The battle between the librarians and the guests develops, where the latter turn into books when defeated, thus expanding the library. Players must unravel the truth about the city while collecting books, searching for the absolute book.
Battle Simulation in the Library:
Library of Ruina is a game that uses the concept of a “library battle simulation.” Players will invite guests to the library and engage in battles with them to obtain “books” with their stories. Battles are played with “librarians” and “guests” using cards and dice. Strategically, players plan their moves based on which cards the guests will use.
Construction of Emotions in Conflicts:
The confrontation in the library is not just about eliminating enemies, but about intensifying emotions. As the battle progresses, the emotions of the librarians and guests increase, affecting the results of the battle. The game features positive consequences or powerful effects with penalties, depending on the librarian’s feelings.
Transformation of Guests into Books:
When a guest dies in the library, they become a book. These books can be the body of a librarian, materials to expand the library, or new cards for battle. Invite different guests to purchase various books and use them according to your needs.
History of the City and the Library:
Library of Ruina features the stories of Angela, the Sephirot, and Roland, continuing from the end of Lobotomy Corporation. Players will witness various events in the big city where the library is located. Accumulate books to grow your library and librarians, inviting more powerful guests for better books.
With these exciting additions and features, Library of Ruina promises to give players a unique library battle simulation experience.
