Epic Games creative director Donald Mustard to retire this month


Donald Mustard, the creative director of Epic Games, announced that he will retire from his position this month. Mustard is known for his distinguished career in the video game industry and his contribution to the success of Epic Games.

Mustard co-founded ChAIR Entertainment Group in May 2005, a company that was acquired by Epic Games in May 2008. Since then, he played a pivotal role in the company, assuming the role of creative director in July 2016.

In an emotional message about his departure, Mustard said: “After an incredible adventure, I will be retiring from my role as creative director at Epic this month. “I have enjoyed almost 25 years in the video game industry collaborating with some of the most talented people and I am very proud of what we have achieved together.”

Mustard also highlighted some of the milestones in his career, including the creation of games like “Undertow,” “Shadow Complex” and the “Infinity Blade” trilogy. In addition, he was especially proud of his contribution to the creation and development of Fortnite, a game that has conquered players around the world.

Mustard’s farewell message concluded with excitement for the future of Fortnite, both as a player and part of the community. Additionally, he praised the Epic Games team and its commitment to innovation in the video game industry.

This news marks the end of an era at Epic Games, but leaves a lasting legacy of creativity and success in the video game industry.
