The long-awaited psychological horror game Stray Souls is about to hit multiple platforms, and lovers of the horror genre have a date to mark on their calendars. Publisher Versus Evil and developer Jukai Studio have announced that Stray Souls will launch on October 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, priced at $29.99.
Pre-sales are now underway through the Microsoft Store, and for PC users, a special edition called “Cult Classic Edition” will be available for $39.99, which will include the official soundtrack and the Sacred Tome digital art book. The soundtrack features famed composer Akira Yamaoka (known for his work on Silent Hill) and veteran independent game composer Pete Wicher. It contains a total of 60 tracks totaling more than three hours of music, including exclusive tracks that do not appear in the game. The art book features gothic watercolor illustrations by artist Phil Worobey, as well as a complete digital lore library encompassing all notes, letters, and documents discoverable throughout the game.
To commemorate the game’s release, Watcher’s paranormal investigation YouTube series Ghost Files will release a Stray Souls-inspired episode on October 20. In this episode, hosts Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej will conduct their first investigation in a private home using some of the tactics used in the game.
Stray Souls plunges you into a world of nightmares, where you must face horrific creatures, solve challenging puzzles, and uncover a dark family secret to expose the disturbing truth behind your existence. The game combines elements inspired by classic horror with modern gameplay and souls-like precision, bringing a fresh spin to today’s action-horror genre.
